The Buddies, also known as Air Buddies and Disney Buddies, is an American film series, spun-off from the Air Bud series (1997-2003). Each film is a straight-to-DVD (and Blu-ray in certain areas). The Buddies series also had its own Santa Paws direct-to-DVD prequel spin-off, with The Search for Santa Paws in 2010, and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups in 2012.
This film series is a semi-reboot/soft reboot of the Air bud film series so it’s set in a new alternative continuity with the differences being:
- The puppies born in Air Bud: World Pup, which grew to full size in Air Bud: Seventh Inning Fetch, are gone.
- Molly's original owner, Emma Putter is ignored and replaced with a family with Henry.
- Molly became next door neighbours with Air Bud.
